Salary: £51,539.40 – £53,875.40 per annum (Pay Award Pending)

Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is seeking a highly skilled and talented architect to lead the in-house Architectural Team. This is a senior role requiring a combination of strategic and practical skills, running a busy practice and being lead designer on key projects. Workload is varied, from feasibility studies to new build projects covering all departments across the Council. The successful candidate will have a track record of design, project management, contract delivery and budgetary responsibility as well as a comprehensive knowledge of health and safety practices. They will be experienced in these roles and have a strong focus on customer service.

The Architects’ Team is part of a wider Estates Service, comprising Property and Asset Management, Facilities Management plus the delivery of large-scale capital projects.

The Architectural Manager is a key member of the strategic delivery team for the corporate estate.

Essential

• Educated to degree and postgraduate degree level in Architecture.
• Registered member of the Architects’ Registration Board
• Chartered Membership of Royal Institute of British Architects or Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
