Linearchitecture is a small, rural-based practice that focuses on residential and small-scale commercial/ hospitality projects. We have a wide range of clients from across the country that enable us to have a diverse and interesting portfolio of work.
We are based in a quiet rural location, 15 miles from central Glasgow with the West Highland Way passing our front door and great views to the Campsies. The role would be ideally suited to someone with at least 5 years post part 3 experience although we will also consider you based on your length of time in practice/portfolio of experience.
Our work mostly consists of large one-off houses, smaller hospitality/tourism projects and the general mixed bag that makes up life in a small practice. Your role will be to take full charge of projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight. You will need to be practical, adaptable and have a good organisational skills.
The skill set we are most looking for is job-running, technical and delivery skills but as with a small practice – a little bit of everything else too. Specifically, we’ll need you to have a very good working knowledge of current building regulations and an ability to think creatively when approaching design, compliance and delivery issues.
The role is flexible in terms of hours – ideally full time, we will consider part time or blended roles such as school hours only etc. We stick strictly to our office hours with no overtime. Happy to accommodate home working when there are packages to deliver or set tasks to do – however in the first few months this will be a largely office-based role. We are not based on any public transport routes – so you will need your own car and while a lot of our sites are very close to the office, we have quite a few projects in remote rural locations.
The practice uses ArchiCAD as its main software but have the ability for staff to use AutoCAD too – so ideally, we’ll cross train you in ArchiCAD but we will approach each candidate individually as to what suits best. Being able to hit the ground running is initially more important than specific software skills.
Please submit your CV and a one-page covering letter describing your suitability for the position, your current employment and notice periods and salary expectations. If you’re sending a portfolio please no bigger than 10Mb. Please do not include links to external websites. No agencies please.
