Position Details

We are seeking a senior project runner / Project Architect, or similar qualification who enjoys job ownership and the delivery of competent drawing packages. This is not an immediate management position although that may be offered to the right candidate in due course. The initial role is project delivery and ownership of projects supported by our recently qualified staff and students. The role may suit someone who has tried the management route or their own Practice and is seeking reward and recognition for the design and technical role they trained for and enjoy.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of your own projects from inception to completion, mostly within the £2 – £6m value range.

We are a mid-sized practice currently numbering 21, located in a high quality and recently remodelled open plan design studio with excellent staff facilities. Although based in Glasgow city centre, we work across the UK and while the majority of our projects are in the West of Scotland; we currently have project from the south coast of England to  the north of Scotland.

We are still small enough to feel that we are a family. Our staff turnover is very low which has seen us grow organically from 4 to 21 in 11 years. Our recruitment has often been by staff introducing former colleagues and to date all promotions have been internal. We feel that this underscores one of our key businesses aims: To be an ethical employer, where people work hard but enjoy what they do within a supportive office environment while achieving a good work / life balance.

We currently offer:

•       Above industry average salaries and we look forward to an open discussion on what is currently “average”.

•       The position would be office based with occasional flexibility to work from home. We provide all staff with a personal lap-top to facilitate flexible working. Standard hours are 9.00 – 5.30pm but we are flexible and seek to accommodate individual needs with regard to childcare and travel.

•       We operate an optional shortened weekly lunch and finish at 2.30pm on a Friday, which has proved to be very popular with our team.

•       We offer the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects. We provide design services on circa 140 live projects per year with a healthy mixed bag of industrial & commercial, hotel & leisure, elderly care, flatted residential developments, retirement living, student living, listed building conversions and one-off private houses, domestic extensions and Steadings.

We predominantly use AutoCad however we have several Revit projects and experience of both would be useful. We can offer Revit training in-house.
